Concertzender, the Netherlands |Crosslinks – Electronic Frequencies | Languages of the Unheard | Wednesday 23th March 2022, 23:00 CET

The radio station “Concertzender” in the Netherlands has dedicated three episodes of its broadcasting program to the 5th Tehran International Electronic Music Festival (TIEMF).

The first episode is going to be published on Wednesday 23th March 2022, 23:00 CET, and includes the work Languages of the Unheard A live experiment of conversing in the language of protest, participatory performance, which I co-created with Danae Theodoridou in 2020. Languages of the Unheard. Commissioned by Common Lab – Goethe-Institut Excellency Initiative by Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki & ArtBOX in collaboration with TIF-HELEXPO, Freiraum, and Institute Hypewerk for Postindustrial Design, in the context of the State of the Arts.
Concept, creation: Danae Theodoridou.
Composition: Dimitri Papageorgiou.
Participants: Kate Adams (UK), Maria Apostolakea (France), Marijana Cvetkovic (Serbia), Ivana Filip (Croatia), Elena Koukoli (Greece), Janeda Milio (Albania), Eleni Mylona (Switzerland), Stefanie Schweiger (Austria), Elena Stamatopoulou (Greece), Tina Yotopoulou (Greece)

The rest of the program entails works by Pedro García-Velásquez, Giacomo Guerrini, Marco Alberghini, Sam Barreto Cardoso Bertoldi, Angelo Marrone, Armando Vanzi, Alessia Anastassopulos, and Erfan Javadi.

Matt Ertz, host, devoted his December 3 show Muddle Instead of Music (https://www.mixcloud.com/muddleinsteadofmusic/) to music from Greece. Among works by Iannis Xenakis, Jani Christou, Yannis Kyriakides and Lina Tonia, there is also to be found my “…risuona piú lontano che mai”  for flute, soprano saxophone, percussion and piano (2018) performed by the Ensemble Suono Giallo premiered this July at the Il Suono New Music Week.

This is the recording of the interview, at the 9,58 Greek National Radio of Northern Greece, about the Delian Academy for New Music.

Composers Panayiotis Kokoras and Dimitri Papageorgiou together with the artistic director Alexandros Spyrou as guests of journalist Thanasis Gogadis in his show “En Thessaloniki” .

Main subject of their talk is the Delian Academy for New Music, which opened its gates for the first time this Monday, June 12th 2017, at the Grypario Cultural Center of the City of Mykonos and welcomes talented composers and musicians from all over the world.

The pictures are from the follow up interview, a retrospective of the Delian Academy, which took place on July 10th, but unfortunately has not been recorded due to technical programs.

Listen online to the Austrian National Radio broadcast of the Molecular Organ concert, at the molecular level – Molecules pull out all the Stops,  which took place on October 7th 2016 at the international new music festival Musikprotokol Graz.

On November 10th 2016, the show Zeit-Ton aired excerpts of six works from the concert by Klaus Dorfegger, Florian Geßler, Elisabeth Harnik, Hannes Kerschbaumer, Clemens Nachtmann, and Dimitri Papageorgiou.

The broadcast of my work, including a short commentary by Franz Josef Kerstinger, begins at 23:33. Please, note that the recording of my work is missing the beginning and the end of the piece.

The Studio Dan formation (https://studiodan.at/en/), founded by trombonist Daniel Riegler, interpreted the premieres for this unique tubular structure that is located in the courtyard of the New Chemistry building at Graz University of Technology.

For an hour, I tell stories of my life and play excerpts of my music as well as music by Georges Aperghis, Beat Furrer, Nicolas Tzortzis and my composition students Antonis Rouvelas, Manolis Ekmektzoglou, Jiannis Paul, and Zesses Seglias.

I will be talking about my life and musical experiences in Greece, Austria and U.S.A. and I will be playing music by George Aperghis, Beat Furrer, Nicolas Tzortzis and my composition students Antonis Rouvelas, Manolis Ekmektzoglou, Jiannis Paul, and Zesses Seglias.

“Translucent Currents in her Darkness” for chamber ensemble, which was recently premiered by the Ensemble Zeitfluss at their anniversary concert “10 Years Ensemble Zeitfluss” will be aired on October 31 by the OE1 Radio Program of the Austrian Radio Television (ÖRF). 

The whole program of the concert will be available online via streaming featuring works by Denovaire, Klaus Dorfegger, Elisabeth Harnik, Mirela Ivičević, Joachim Jung, Gerhard Krammer, Gerd Kühr, Klaus Lang, Daniel Oliver Moser, Gerd Noack, Dimitri Papageorgiou, Anselm Schaufler, Krešimir Seletković, Gerhard Stäbler, Orestis Toufektsis, Joanna Wozny, as well as Country Band March and 3 Lieder (1922) by Charles Ives, in an excellent arrangement by Anselm Schaufler.

This Friday night the ÖRF1 will broadcast three of the five concerts of the festival Tage Neuer Musik Graz, which took place on May 23rd to 25th. The opening concert features my Nuit with Klangforum members Olivier Vivares (clarinet), Dimitrios Polisoidis (viola), joined by Janna Polyzoides (piano), delivering an elegant performance.
